Vertical Isolator
A vertical type isolator is a high-voltage disconnect switch used to isolate sections of a power system during maintenance or repair. Unlike circuit breakers, it operates under no-load or negligible-current conditions, creating a visible air gap that confirms the circuit is safely de-energized.
In this design, the conducting arm rotates vertically from its base, making it ideal for substations with limited horizontal space. Porcelain insulators support the live parts, while a motorized or manual mechanism controls operation. Three-phase units open and close all poles together, ensuring balanced, safe switching.
Vertical isolators are widely used in transmission lines, substations, and industrial power networks.
Applications:
Industrial plants
Vertical isolators give safe isolation for large motors, furnaces and feeders in industrial plants.
Power transmission lines
Our isolators provide a visible break in high-voltage transmission lines, so maintenance can be done safely.
Power substations
Vertical isolators isolate circuit breakers, transformers and busbars in substations, and save space.
