Single Pole Operated AB Switch
This specification covers the design, production, on-site testing, and supply of Air Break Switches with Polymer Insulators suitable for system voltages of 11 kV and 22 kV. The switches are designed to interrupt current flow in both fault and normal conditions. AB switches are utilized in load-breaking and isolation applications. When closed, the switch allows current to flow through the circuit. Conversely, when open, it isolates the network connection by halting current flow. Polymer insulators provide both mechanical support and electrical insulation. AB switches can be installed vertically and are operated manually.
A Single Operated AB (Air Break) Switch is an electrical switch used for isolating circuits. Unlike gang-operated switches that control all three phases simultaneously, single operated switches allow each phase to be operated independently. This type of switch is often employed in lower voltage applications and scenarios requiring individual phase control. It offers simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility.
Applications:
- Distribution networks in electrical substations
- Industrial power systems for phase-by-phase control
- Maintenance operations requiring isolation of specific phases
Variants:
Single operated AB switches provide a practical solution for systems needing precise control over individual electrical phases.
